The City of Palm Springs is now creating an interest list for residents interested in serving on a Measure “J” Oversight Commission that would ensure that if the measure on the Nov. 8 ballot passes, the funds are spent with community input, independent audits, and public disclosure of annual reports.

On Wednesday night the City Council unanimously adopted the creation of the commission which would be comprised of Palm Springs residents, including some with finance and accounting backgrounds.
“The City Council and I look forward to the Measure “J” Oversight Commission being a part of the downtown revitalization, enhancing neighborhood services and safety — and reinvesting in our City’s streets and parks,” said Mayor Steve Pougnet. “I encourage anyone with an interest in public service and the future of our City to contact the Clerk’s Office.”

For more information about applying for a potential Measure “J” Oversight Commission, contact the Office of the City Clerk at (760) 323-8204 or email cityclerk@palmspringsca.gov.
